NOTICE: Little Peeps classes are for a preschooler and one big buddy adult. The program is built for Peeps and Big Buddies to participate together. Siblings and other children are not allowed unless they are restricted to a stroller or a carrier on the big buddy at all times. We are in a small space and want our Little Peeps participants to be able to fully enjoy the class!
CANCELLATION POLICY:
Refunds for cancellations will only be granted if the program is cancelled by the Sacramento Zoo OR your child has COVID-like symptoms and is isolating at home. To receive a refund, a COVID test must be administered and proof of testing (even if negative) must be sent to the Sacramento Zoo. Contact the Reservations Specialist to inquire about a session transfer, pending availability. A $5 session transfer fee may be required.

On this tour you will enter keeper only areas to have opportunities to interact with the okapi, such as hand-feeding them a morning snack. Afterwards, you’ll visit the okapi barn to learn about their care. A rare experience with a rare animal!

Please review the following step-by-step process before submitting your reservation:
Step 1: Type the number “1” in the field below, as you are submitting only one reservation.
Note: A reservation can have up to 250 people. If you will exceed this number of people, please contact the Reservation Specialist to discuss accommodation options. All reservations must be submitted no later than two weeks in advance from the date requested.
Step 2: Follow the prompt and provide all information asked for. If you will not be the point of contact the day of the reservation, provide the contact information of who will be, to ensure that check-in instructions can be sent accordingly. When completed, click Add to Cart.
Step 3: Click the cart icon on the top right-hand corner to complete your reservation. For billing information, provide the point of contact's information with the school’s/organization’s address.

All groups/families signing up for Sac Zoo Academy Days must purchase the online curriculum "Habitat Heroes", as a part of the comprehensive study unit within Sac Zoo Academy.
- To do so, type a quantity of "1" into the "Virtual Materials Only" price type. Only ONE purchase of the virtual materials is needed. Enough materials will be provided in the curriculum kit you receive for all of your students.

Student Attendance with Animal Ambassador Meet and Greet: $45 per student

Students participating will be led on a 45-minute guided tour of the zoo that follows along with the curriculum, and parents will receive a curriculum kit with all of the materials that they need to facilitate zoo learning at home.

What to expect for your Overnight Safari:
- Scout Safari Overnights are for ages 5 years and older.
- All attendees under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a paid adult.
- There must be at least one adult per six children.
- Please eat dinner before you arrive. There is no dinner served, and breakfast is a grab and go light snack. Guests are allowed to bring additional light snacks if needed, but there are no mealtimes set aside and no refrigeration available.
- The sleeping area is on our Reptile House and Summer Camp lawns. Guests are required to provide their own tents or ground covering and a sleeping bag.
- *Cars will be parked outside zoo grounds, at the Fairytale Town parking lot. You will receive directions a week prior to your scheduled overnight.
- A partial refund may be available if you need to cancel, fill out the cancellation form.
- If your preferred date is full, please add your name to the wait list.
- The Sacramento Zoo adheres to CDPH and Sacramento County Public Health policies in regards to COVID-19 precautions. The most up-to-date COVID-19 policies for Overnight Safaris will be communicated to registered guests prior to your stay.
This tour will take you inside the keeper-only area of the Reptile House where you'll learn about caring for amphibians and retiles, handling venomous animals, and using a snake-moving tool. Finish with a meet and greet with a keeper and reptile encounter.

Join us for an engaging, interactive encounter with one of our charming opossums! During this tour, you’ll hear fascinating facts about opossums, learn how we care for them, and discover why enrichment is essential for their well-being. You’ll create an enrichment item and then watch as the opossum investigates and enjoys your creation. And to top it off, you’ll get a chance to feed them.

- Dinner is provided. Dinner includes: two pizza slices (meat-style pizza or veggie-style pizza), your choice of chips, and a drink choice between water and canned soda.
- The sleeping area is on our Reptile House and Summer Camp lawns. Guests are required to provide their own tents or ground covering and a sleeping bag.
- *Cars will be parked outside zoo grounds, at the Fairytale Town parking lot. You will receive directions a week prior to your scheduled overnight.
- A partial refund may be available if you need to cancel, fill out the cancellation form.
- If your preferred date is full, please add your name to the wait list.
- The Sacramento Zoo adheres to CDPH and Sacramento County Public Health policies in regards to COVID-19 precautions. The most up-to-date COVID-19 policies for Overnight Safaris will be communicated to registered guests prior to your stay.

- Members must sign in to receive member discounts. Discounts are reflected after you click "Add to Cart".
- Tours will be discounted by the cost of zoo admission only for the number of individuals that would be covered by your membership level.
Age Restrictions:
- For ages 10 and older, 1:1 parent child ration
- All attendees under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a paid adult. There must be at least one adult per one child.
- Children under the age of 10 are not permitted on the tour, this includes infants.
Tour Information:
- Duration: 45 - 60 minutes.
- Capacity: up to 6 participants. If you have more than six in your party, please call 916-808-8441 to get in contact with a tour specialist who can help accommodate your group.
- Arrival time: Please arrive on time, as the tour will begin promptly at 1:30pm. Late arrivals may not be able to join the tour.
- Getting dirty: Rhinos love to take mud baths, which means they are often dusty or muddy. During you meet and greet, you may get a bit dirty as well. For this reason, we recommend wearing comfortable clothing that you don't mind getting dusty. There will be an opportunity to wash your hands at the end of the tour.
- Animal participation is not guaranteed. Animals have free choice to participate or not participate in any encounter. The animals also have free choice to leave the encounter at anytime.

Health and Safety:
- Closed-toed shoes are highly encouraged for your comfort and safety.
- Eating and drinking (except water) is not allowed during the tour.
- Illness: If you are ill, experiencing symptoms of COVID or have been exposed to someone with COVID in the last two weeks, we ask that you reschedule your tour. This is for the safety or our animals.
Please be sure to print, fill out and bring the Release of Liability Form with you on the day of your tour. You can also fill it out when you check in at membership.
The Rhino Tour is ADA-accessible. However, the tour will include some uneven terrain. Please contact us with any specific questions and we will be happy to help as we can.
